Getting Married at the Lake

It’s been two years of smaller ceremonies and pandemic precautions, but during the past year, wedding celebrations came back in a big way! For our 13th annual wedding guide, Getting Married at the Lake, we previewed dozens of local weddings submitted by our partner photographers — Anna Urban Photography, Matt Mason Photography and Ideal Impressions Photography — to find those that we felt represented the very best that the area has to offer those who are pledging their lives to each other.

We chose three couples whose weddings ranged from small and intimate to big and bold, from indoor to outdoor, across a wide variety of venues. We interviewed each couple to learn the story of their big day, from their very first meeting to the small, personal details that made their wedding day so special. In doing so, we collected a full list of local vendors who work hard each season to help to make sure that every wedding in the Geneva Lake area is a magical one.

If you’re planning a wedding in the area, our annual wedding guide is a great place to start. Pick up the print version of At The Lake Magazine to read a feature on how to write authentic wedding vows, and check out our guide to the many types of venues available locally, from rustic barn weddings to elegant affairs on the water. Then enjoy the inspiration of our 2023 Real Wedding couples as they share their big days with us at the links below.
