Eat, Drink and Raise Money for Charity!

First Annual Lake Geneva Pub & Grub Crawl On Tap for This Weekend

The Lake Geneva Jaycees Club, one of the premiere community service organizations in the area, is hosting a weekend-long Pub & Grub Crawl, which will run from 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23 through close of business Sunday, Oct. 25. Although it’s all about enjoying great food, drinks and fun, money for local charities will be raised, too.

The Jaycees are working with 11 of the area’s unique pub and patio bars and restaurants that will feature special drink and food menus for the weekend — everything from Bloody Mary mimosas and wine flights to smoke brisket sandwiches and delectable pizzas. Four local resorts and hotels are also offering special pricing for those traveling from out of town.

According to Lake Geneva Jaycees Director Chad Bittner, who is chairing the Pub & Grub Crawl, “We are very excited to partner with many local businesses and hotels in an effort to create an event that will showcase some great places in our area. This is an event that will celebrate each of them in a manner that is just plain fun.”

Bittner explains, the Lake Geneva Jaycees will sell Pub & Grub Crawl wrist bands with five drink/food tokens that will be redeemable for special menu items at the participating pubs and restaurants. Each wrist band is $25 and in addition to purchasing them through the Jaycees, they will be available for purchase at each location. Unused tokens will be redeemable for beverages in the entertainment pavilion during next summer’s Venetian Festival. (Since 1962, the Jaycees have hosted Venetian Festival, raising thousands for local organizations.)

Participating bars and restaurants in this weekend’s Pub & Grub Crawl are: Next Door Pub; Champs Sports Bar & Grill; Mars Resort: Flat Iron Tap; Barrique Bistro &. Wine Bar; The Boat House Bar & Grill; Topsy Turvy Brewery; Hogs & Kisses, Sprecher’s Restaurant & Pub; Oakfire; and The Bottle Shop.

Special pricing on overnight accommodations is available at: Harbor Shores on Lake Geneva; Fairfield Inn & Suites: Comfort Suites-Lake Geneva; and The Cove of Lake Geneva.

The Lake Geneva Jaycees include 21-41 year-old-members who devote a portion of their time to community service in the interest of becoming better community leaders. Bittner adds, there is real excitement to kick off this weekend’s event. “Lake Geneva’s area young professionals are wanting to make this first ever Pub & Grub Crawl something that can be done annually or more,” he says.
