Lake Geneva’s Winterfest Is Back!

Back for its 27th year, Lake Geneva’s Winterfest kicks off this week with the start of the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Over the course of three days, 15 talented teams from across the country will gather to create larger-than-life works of art from snow. The snow sculptures can be viewed free of charge in Flat Iron Park and at the Driehaus Family Plaza at the Riviera at least through Sunday, Feb. 6, but they’ll stay up until they melt! For best viewing, hurry to see them early while the temps are below freezing to get a fresh look.

Just steps away from the snow sculptures, visitors can find intricate ice sculptures on display at local businesses throughout downtown. This year there are over 30 ice sculptures to be seen – can you spot them all? Click here to view a map.

Warm up after a long day of exploring with bonfires and igloos on the beach. You can catch live jazz music or a magic show Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Concessions are also available, including s’mores kits, hot cocoa and BBQ by Show Us Your Meats.

While the Luxe Igloo Experience on the beach is currently sold out, there are other igloo experiences across Lake Geneva that can be booked for dining. Here are a few: The Ridge, Grand Geneva, Lake Lawn Resort, Maxwell Mansion, Pier 290.

Winterfest brings an air of magic and adventure to Lake Geneva that makes getting outside in the cold weather fun for everyone. From snow and ice sculptures to s’mores and igloos, you’re sure to find an activity that sparks some joy.
