Thanksgiving Dinner Made Easy in the Lake Geneva area

If the thought of spending the whole day in the kitchen leaves you feeling less than thankful this Thanksgiving, the Lake Geneva area offers plenty of options to make your life easier this year and ensure you and your family can still enjoy a delicious feast. Below are a few ideas to save time and help you enjoy the holiday:

Pick Up Dessert

Dreaming of delectable desserts? With a little pre-planning, you can have professional pastries as the perfect finish to your Thanksgiving meal. Order a cake at Lorelei Bittner’s Bakery in Lake Geneva, where you’ll find a wide array of flavor and frosting options and incredible cake decorations. (Pro tip: If a whole cake seems like too much, grab a selection of their artisan mini desserts instead.) If you can’t imagine Thanksgiving without pie, get your order in at the Lake Geneva Pie Company for everything from classic apple, cherry or pumpkin to the more adventurous chocolate pecan, coconut cream or pumple (apple crumb +pumpkin) pie. But order early! Thanksgiving orders must be received by Thursday, Nov. 18, for pickup on Nov. 22, 23 or 24. And speaking of pie, don’t forget about the famous Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag at the Elegant Farmer! Go with the classic version or choose from several alternatives, including peach apple pie, rhubarb apple pie or blueberry apple pie.

Order a Feast To Go

If you love everything about Thanksgiving at home except the hours spent in the kitchen, then order a takeout Thanksgiving Feast! Geneva National’s Thanksgiving To-Go 2021 features three different feast options that can feed up to 22 guests. Chef-prepared turkey, garlic whipped potatoes and green bean casserole are just a few of the classic items included. Order by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 for pickup on Thanksgiving Day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Thanksgiving Dinner Fine Dining

For those who want to skip the cooking AND the cleaning, several Lake Geneva-area restaurants offer a dine-in Thanksgiving dinner option with all the trimmings. Head to Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan for a Thanksgiving feast that includes a shrimp ice tower, a turkey carvery station and salmon or beef options. (Reservations required.) At Lake Geneva’s Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, midday Thanksgiving meals are available at both the Geneva ChopHouse and Ristorante Brissago, and the menu includes lavender and honey-roasted turkey, maple-roasted sweet potato with marshmallow and Calvados-flamed apple or banana crepes. (Call for reservations.) And in Fontana, the Abbey Resort’s 240 West is offering a Thanksgiving buffet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring breakfast options like classic eggs benedict and Belgian waffles as well as the full Thanksgiving feast with turkey, beef short ribs and oysters. (Reservations required.)
