The LGSO April 1 performance will truly be a special event where every piece is a celebration of what it means to be Here in this Place. Beethoven’s Egmont Overture opens the concert with LGSO players joined by talented high school musicians from the area in a special side-by-side experience. We then feature UW Whitewater’s Faculty Piano Trio playing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. And in the second half, we introduce the audience to a work that was composed by a Chicago-based composer, and one skyrocketing in popularity, Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3.
