The Fourth of July is a beloved holiday in the Lake Geneva area. Whether you’ve lived here for generations or are just visiting for the first time, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day, Lake Geneva-style! Here are a few of our favorites:
Williams Bay Lions Club’s Pancake Day
On Saturday, July 2, head down to Williams Bay’s Edgewater Park from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to enjoy homemade flapjacks and friendly conversation with gorgeous lake views. Proceeds benefit the Williams Bay Lions Club.
Fresh Horses, Garth Brooks Tribute Band
The Friends of Phoenix Park Bandshell have a full schedule of performances throughout the weekend at this popular bandshell in Delavan’s Phoenix Park. The lineup culminates on Monday, July 4, at 6 p.m., when you can bring a picnic and enjoy the music of Fresh Horses, a Garth Brooks tribute band.
Fontana Fourth of July fireworks show
For those who want the traditional Geneva Lake fireworks experience, head to the Fontana lakefront for the oldest Fourth of July fireworks show on the lake. You can also watch these fireworks from the water by booking the fireworks tour on the Lake of the Lake through Lake Geneva Cruise Line. Cruise leaves at 8 p.m., fireworks begin at dusk on Monday, July 4.
Independence Day activities at Old World Wisconsin
The largest open-air living history museum in the Midwest is Eagle’s Old World Wisconsin, an easy drive from the Lake Geneva area. On Saturday, July 2nd, and Sunday, July 3rd, in addition to the costumed interpreters and era-illuminating demonstrations and activities, visitors can also enjoy patriotic decorations, live music and special food options in honor of the holiday!
Grand Picnic and Fireworks at Grand Geneva Resort
For an all-American Fourth of July experience with a delicious Southern twist, book reservations for the Grand Picnic on the Lawn at Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 4, enjoy dry-rubbed pork ribs, beef brisket with bourbon BBQ or Texas dry-rubbed roasted chicken, plus an assortment of sides and desserts, and settle in for Grand Geneva’s Fourth of July fireworks show.
